Wholemeal bread with pumpkin seeds

Very simple wholemeal bread. Once you've tried it, you'll never want to buy any other kind again!

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g wholemeal spelt flour
  • 1 sachet dry yeast
  • 2 handful oatmeal
  • 2 handful pumpkin seeds roasted
  • 1 table spoons maple syrup
  • 400 ml warm water

Equipment

  • Loaf pan

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C top/bottom heat.
  2. Chop the pumpkin seeds.
  3. Mix all ingredients together and knead into a dough using a food processor or hand mixer with dough hooks.
  4. Grease the loaf tin with butter. Pour in the batter using a dough scraper; it will have a rather sticky consistency.
    Leave covered in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  5. Bake in the oven for 50 minutes.

Notes

Instead of pumpkin seeds, other seeds or kernels can also be used. Chopped walnuts are excellent for wholemeal walnut bread!
