Method
- This recipe does not include quantities, as these depend on how much stale bread you have and use.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat.
- Cut the bread into slices as thin as possible, preferably using a slicer. A thickness of 3 mm is ideal.
- For the garlic bread chips: Press the garlic and mix with olive oil. Leave to stand for a while so that the oil takes on the garlic flavour.For the Thai curry bread chips: Mix the Thai curry paste with a little olive oil.For the herb bread chips: Mix together the dried herbs, olive oil and lemon zest.
- Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Coat the bread chips with the respective olive oil mixture. Add a little salt to the garlic and herb bread chips.
- Bake the bread chips in the oven on the lower to middle shelf for 15 to 20 minutes. They should not turn dark, but should be completely dry.
