Strasbourg in pictures: the photo gallery

Fotografieren mit dem Smartphine in der Altstadt von Straßburg, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

Strasbourg is truly a beautiful city. It would be a shame not to share more photos of it with you. You may have already read about what I did there and my recommendations for Strasbourg in my blog post . Here you can find Strasbourg in pictures. I hope they inspire you to visit this wonderful city! 🙂

Kathedrale Notre Dame in Straßburg, Münster, Aussicht von Plattform,, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

Notre-Dame Cathedral in Strasbourg seen from halfway up. Here we were on our way up to the viewing platform. Shaky knees included.

Blick auf den Nordturm von der Aussichtsplattform, Kathedrale Notre Dame, Münster, Strassburg, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

The impressive view of the completed north tower from the viewing platform. Anyone who can overcome their fear of heights, or is lucky enough not to have one, should not miss this. I'll do anything for ‘Strasbourg in pictures’...

Gotisches Portal der Kathedrale Notre Dame in Straßburg, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

And once again, the cathedral (called Münster in German), because its Gothic splendour is simply so impressive.

Ill-Kanäle und Ponts Couverts in Strassburg, La Petite France, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

La Petite France, the Ponts Couverts and the fortified towers seen from the Barrage Vauban. A fantastic view – don't miss it when you're there!

Zwei Ill-Kanäle in Strassburg bei den Ponts Couverts, Münster im Hintergrund, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

The Ponts Couverts office is located in this charming little house between two Ill canals. I could definitely see myself working there...

Fachwerkhäuser in La Petite France in Straßburg, Ill, Schleuse, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

The half-timbered houses of La Petite France seen from one of the many bridges. On the right, you can also see one of the locks that the excursion boats have to pass through.

Fachwerkhäuser an einem Ill-Kanal in La Petite France in Straßburg, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

I love these half-timbered houses. When it comes to photography, if only I could stop...
Incidentally, this was during my early morning tour at 6:30 a.m. in complete peace and seclusion (and before the ducks started their morning swim, which has ruined the beautiful reflection).

Entenstopfleber, Le Petit Tonnelier, Restaurant Strassburg, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

Not to everyone's taste, but simply divine: foie gras at the Au Petit Tonnelierrestaurant. Incidentally, it's one of Alsace's famous specialities. And the restaurant comes highly recommended by me – you can skip the foie gras if you like!

Street Art in Strassburg nahe der Barrage Vauban, Straßburg, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

All over Strasbourg, you can find really cool street art, like this impressive wall in front of the Museum for Modern Art.

Bootsfahrt mit Batorama auf der Ill, Europaparlament, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

The European Parliament in Strasbourg. To go inside, which would have been interesting, you have to register in advance. Seen here from a boat tour.

Fachwerkhäuser an der Place St. Gayot, Straßburg, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

The charming Place du Marché Gayot. Seen here in the early morning light – it is significantly busier during the day. With a bit of luck, you can grab a table in the sun and enjoy a drink.

Pause und Aperol Spritz im Cafe Broglie, Strassburg, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

An Aperol Spritz in honour... Café Broglie isn't exactly cheap, but the tables are perfect for watching people go by.

Pause, Nickerchen und Siesta auf einer Bank vor der Kirche St. Thomas in Straßburg, Wanderhunger, Fotostrecke

A sightseeing trip can be quite exhausting. A little siesta on the square in front of St. Thomas Church is just what you need.
