Hi, I'm Martina – born in Austria, but to be honest, my head is usually somewhere else. I love to set off spontaneously, try new things and, above all, eat things I've never tasted before. (Which is great 99% of the time. The other one per cent? Well, let's just say that creamed spinach is one of the very few things you can chase me away with).

I am a lover of life, laughter and Aperol Spritz and a self-confessed Bonne Vivante. Sometimes I hike through the mountains, sometimes I let myself drift with the waves. I love the beauty of nature just as much as la dolce far niente over a good meal in the best company. That's exactly why this blog is called Wanderhunger: from the English word ‘wanderlust’ for travelling, and of course ‘hunger’ for my second great love – food and drink. My food blog Lieblingsspeise has now been incorporated into this website, because enjoyment without travel? Or travel without enjoyment? That's not possible for me.

Fun fact: I'm not only a traveller, blogger and marketing woman, but also a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. That means I've taught people how to dive in Thailand, Malta and the Maldives – and learned that with 20 kilos of equipment on your back, you not only discover new muscles, but also a whole new world. The Covid pandemic may have put my diving career on hold for now, but we'll see what the future holds!

I have been working in marketing again since 2020, but my thirst for adventure remains unabated. I tried out Marseille as my home office base in 2021, spent a month as a digital nomad in Thailand in both 2024 and 2025, and am constantly on the lookout for new ideas, travel destinations and foods to try.

For me, standing still is like an empty fridge: absolutely unbearable. I need change like I need air to breathe – and that's why it never gets boring here at Wanderhunger . Where will life take me next? No idea – but luckily, Aperol is available almost everywhere. 🩷
