Hi, I'm Martina - from Austria, but I've always felt more at home in the world. Spontaneous, open and curious: that's probably the best way to describe me. When there's something new to discover, be it a place, a dish or a wild hobby, I'm usually the first to say ‘Yes!’

I love life, laughter and – yes, I admit it – a good Aperol Spritz. Sometimes I'm adventurous in the mountains or by the sea, other times I prefer to enjoy the peace and quiet, a good glass of wine and the company of loved ones. Wanderhunger combines these two great passions: my irrepressible desire to travel (wanderlust) and my hunger for good food and drink. That's why, in addition to travel reports, you'll also find lots of recipes here – my food blog Lieblingsspeise has now been absorbed into Wanderhunger .

An important part of my life also takes place underwater: I have been a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainersince 2018. I spent six months in Thailand for my training, then taught in Malta and the Maldives. Covid brought my career as a diving instructor to an abrupt end, but it also gave me a new adventure: a summer at an Alpine Club hut in Tyrol – a dream I had wanted to fulfil for a long time.

Since autumn 2020, I have been working full-time in marketing again, but my thirst for adventure remains. I travel as often as possible, whether for weekends, longer holidays or digital nomad trips – two months in Marseille in 2021, one month in Thailand in both 2024 and 2025. And when I'm not travelling, I'm either planning my next trip or cooking with passion.

Standing still? That's not for me. I need change and fresh ideas like I need air to breathe. Where will I end up next? We'll see – but that's exactly what makes my life so exciting.
